Wow, GMail’s been down for about 5 minutes now. That’s not something you see every day.
If you try use it it sits there for a minute or two (I guess some back-end connection has to time out) and then you get an error:
Server Error
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds.
Fun!
UPDATE: It’s not down altogether, it just looks that way to me because my account is down, and Google is trying to redirect me straight to my inbox since I’m already logged in. On another computer I can get to the Gmail home page and log in under a different account. Trying to log into my main account gives me the same error page, though.
I guess it’s just the server that my account is on that’s down, or something along those lines.
UPDATE 2: Ooh, a nifty new error message:
Server Error
Gmail is temporarily unavailable. Cross your fingers and try again in a few minutes. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.
UPDATE 3: Well, it’s sort of back up, after a good 25 minutes or so of downtime. I can usually move around in my mailbox, but everything takes about a minute to get anywhere. Something’s still very messed up, but at least it’s sort of there. Maybe I’ll leave Gmail alone at stop poking at it for a while, and hopefully it’ll be all better when I need it again.
